Biography

Dr. Massimo Giangaspero is currently working as professor of emerging infectious diseases at University of Teramo Italy. He is also involved in Institutional activities including strengthening of sanitary veterinary authorities in the framework of EU assistance as Pre-Accession Adviser in Slovenia or EU/FAO/WHO technical assistance in Albania, Bangladesh, Croatia, Lithuania, Poland, Syria, Romania and Zambia.

He is author of about 130 papers on veterinary matters, food hygiene and animal health published on international journals. Currently collaborates with the Department of Health Protection and Health Policies, Calabria Region, and the Italian Reference Center for Wild Animal Diseases, actively involved in advisory and capacity building activities on scientific research planning, support and training on epidemiology, surveillance and animal diseases control programs, strengthening diagnostic capacity for diseases surveillance, development of surveillance systems, strengthening of international collaborative network, focused on major animal infectious disease and zoonoses.
