Biography
Dr. BHASKAR NARAYAN RAO is a Professor of Surgery at the University of Tennessee, College of Medicine, USA. He received M.D. from Bangalore Medical College, Bangalore, India. Dr. Rao is the past president of the Memphis Surgical Society and International Society of Pediatric Surgical Oncology. He is also the director of Surgical Training For International Outreach, This was founded by St Jude Children's Research Hospital to aid developing countries of Central and South America, Lebanon, the Philippines, etc.
He has many publications regarding the improved prognosis of children with osteosarcoma metastatic to the lung at the time of diagnosis, Embryonal malignancies of unknown primary origin in children and Childhood melanoma. He has authored/coauthored over 200 manuscripts and given over 700 oral presentations around the world. He is a member of the Institutional Representative for Sarcoma Alliance for Research Through Collaboration. He has trained over 100 surgical residents in pediatric surgical Oncology.
