Biography
Dr. Sia is a graduate of both Dentistry and Medicine and holds the position as the Chairman of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Gullas Medical Center – University of the Visayas and a Consultant in Oral-Maxillofacial and Implant Surgery at St. Luke’s Medical Center – Global City, University of Cebu Medical Center, Chong Hua Hospital Group and Cancer Center, and the Craniofacial Foundation of the Philippines. Currently, he holds the position as Vice President of the Philippine Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is a Clinical Assistant Professor of the Department of Oral Surgery and Oral Medicine at Cebu Doctors’ University. He was appointed as the International Relations Officer for the Philippines of the Young Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Group of Hong Kong and an honorary editorial board member of the Advances in Dentistry and Oral Health Journal and Open Access Journal of Surgery.
Dr. Sia completed his dental degree at the Cebu Doctors’ University, medical degree at the University of the Visayas, Postgraduate Diploma in Oral Surgery, and Master’s Degree in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Hong Kong. He was a recipient of the Clinical Fellowship grant by Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen (AO) Craniomaxillofacial Foundation at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology. He is a Fellow of the International and Philippine Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Active member of the Asian Association of OMS, International College of Maxillofacial Surgery, International Cleft Lip and Palate Foundation, and Philippine Academy of Head and Neck Surgeons.
Research Interest
Includes Regenerative and Reconstruction techniques in Maxillofacial region, Bone Grafting, Biomaterials and Growth Factors, Orthognathic Surgery, Cleft Surgery, Pharmacology, and Quality of life in Maxillofacial Surgery patients.
