Biography
Dr. Giuseppe Giannaccare is Ophthalmology Unit Head Prof.EC Campos in S.Orsola-Malpighi Teaching Hospital at the University of Bologna in Italy. He earned Medical Degree at the University of Rome “Campus Bio-Medico” and completed his residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Bologna.
Currently, he is involved in a Ph.D. Program at the University of Bologna focused on Ocular Graft-versus-host Disease, and he is serving as Ophthalmologist at S.Orsola-Malpighi Teaching Hospital. He belongs to the Young Ophthalmologist Committee of the European Society of Ophthalmology (YO SOE) and he is also National Representative for Italy in the same Society.
Research Interest
Dr. Giuseppe Giannaccare is an Italian Ophthalmologist mainly focused on Cornea, Ocular Surface Disease and Cataract surgery. His research lines include severe Dry Eye, Ocular Graft-versus-host Disease, Corneal Transplantation, and immunological graft rejection. Currently, he is involved as a co-principal investigator in clinical trials about the use of cord blood serum eye drops for the treatment of severe corneal diseases.
