Biography
Dr. Mikio Zeniya is currently working as Professor of Medicine in Jikei University specialized for Gastroenterology focused on liver cell biology and also as Visiting Professor at Fujita Health University School of Medicine. During Gradate School he joined Biochemistry of Osaka City University as research fellow and studied about liver immunology. In 1982 he got PhD of medical science. Later he joined Liver Study Unit of Yale University as postdoctoral fellow and studied about liver cell biology.
Dr. Mikio joined nationwide survey study group supported by Ministry of Health and International autoimmune hepatitis study group and participate to make the diagnostic criteria and scoring system of autoimmune hepatitis and participated in the Japanese Clinical Guideline on autoimmune hepatitis and primary biliary cirrhosis. He organized liver immunology laboratory and kept research on autoimmune liver diseases. In research field he and his colleague established mouse model of autoimmune hepatitis using fusion cell as auto-antigen. He served several editorial boards and won several prizes concerning his research.
