Biography

Dr. Anne Vehlow is currently working at the OncoRay - National Center for Radiation Research in Oncology, Medical Faculty Carl Gustav Carus at Technical University Dresden. She obtained her Ph.D. at Cancer Research UK and University College London, UK with Professor Facundo Batista where she studied signaling mechanisms leading to integrin activation, cell adhesion and formation of the immunological synapse in B cells and was supported by a CRUK Ph.D. Studentship.

With great interest in cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying cell adhesion and cell movement, she moved on to work as a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Matthias Krause at King’s College London, the UK where she investigated the function of the cytoskeletal protein Lamellipodin for endocytosis and cell motility in normal and in cancer cells. As a senior postdoctoral fellow, she is now focusing on the elucidation of the molecular mechanisms of invasion and therapy resistance of Glioblastoma multiforme brain cancer in vitro and using mouse models in the laboratory of Professor Nils Cordes at OncoRay, Dresden, Germany.

Research interests: Mechanisms of therapy resistance and invasion of Glioblastoma multiforme
Molecular and Cellular Radiobiology
Oncology
